Lockdown Hair Colour options for Grey Blending and Toning.

Grey roots? Let Zucci help you with some quick and easy solutions

To our Zucci guests. We know this lockdown has been hard, and having your hair suffer does not help. Here are some solutions to help blend greys and tone blondes. We are not going down the avenue of home hair colour kits, and we are asking you, our guests, to refrain from colouring your hair at home. If you need some reasons why, here are a few:

  • the products available are not going to give you the outcomes you are used to.
  • These products can cause skin irritation and damage to your hair.
  • The process of bringing you back to or changing your hair colour after lockdown can be longer, more damaging, and expensive.
  • There are lots of great temporary alternatives to manage your colour that are easy to access and inexpensive.

Here are some great options for blending greys and toning.

Grey Blending
Click this link to shop for sprays, powders, crayons and mascaras for grey blending. I have listed a few below, but there are many more. All these products listed are designed to wash out of the hair and should be used in visible areas. Sprays are quicker to apply than powders, but they don’t last as long. The best way to use these products is to style your hair the way you want to wear it and then apply it to the visible areas. This technique will ensure you are not wasting product on areas that are not visible.

Some options for grey blending for all hair colours.

Toners
Blonde hair toning options are a little easier. The Blonde Revival range from Aveda launched in June 2021. It is an

amazing high performance, conditioning blonde hair toning range. The blonde revival can be used as a shampoo and conditioner whenever you wash your hair, alternated with another product or as a one-off when needed. It is very versatile. Here are some ways you can use blonde revival for toning your hair.

Blonde Revival

10-minute Toning Process

  1. Shampoo your hair with blonde revival shampoo when shampooing; leave the shampoo in the hair for 1 min after you have finished massaging it into your hair and scalp. This will allow the cuticle to really open and the colour molecules to start their magic.
  2. Rinse out all shampoo with warm water – not cold and not hot.
  3. Jump out of the shower, and towel dry your hair gently. It does not have a conditioner in it, so the cuticle is open. If your hair is prone to being very knotty, please skip this step and use your hands to remove as much excess water from your hair.
  4. Divide your hair into 2 sections down the middle from front to back. If you have above shoulder length hair, take about a 10 cent amount of conditioner (for below shoulder to mid-back go 20 cent amount and for super long go 50 cent amount) and apply this from ends to roots on one side, gently massaging it into the hair down the strands. Slowly work your way from the ends of your hair to about 3-4 cm off the roots. Repeat on the other side.
  5. Then take a wide-tooth comb or tangle teezer and comb your hair from ends to roots to evenly distribute the product through.
  6. Clip up and let this sit for up to 10 minutes (if you took more than 5 mins to comb, leave it on for 5 min)
  7. Rinse out with cool to warm water to close the critical.
  8. This process should be repeated when you feel the tone of your hair is getting warm.
