Zakary Smiley of Zucci Hairdressing wins HBIA Apprenticeship Stage 1 Award for 2015, announced last night at The HBIA Awards Cocktail Ceremony.
Zakary presented himself to a panel of judges for an interview and submitted an outstanding written folio entry. HBIA ask the apprentice’s to “Show a high level of enthusiasm for the industry they are employed in.” The apprentices were expected to present a criterion of examples in Career & Study Achievements, Personal Skills and Achievement in other Pursuits.
Four apprentices from Zucci were nominated for the different stage apprenticeship awards, Ashlyn O’Neill, Gulia Orlando, Zakary Smiley and Bonnie Lee all with outstanding entries. All apprentices attend the ZUCCi Academy located at Clarendon Street, South Melbourne, which is partnered with Pivot Point International to provide a high caliber of education. Rocco Petrucci, director and founder of ZUCCi Hairdressing (1984) is incredibly proud of Zakary’s achievements, and his development of becoming a professional hairdresser to meet the needs of a discerning ZUCCi clientele. Rocco says “Zak works everyday to continually improve himself and deliver the highest level of service to each guest he comes into contact with.”
Zakary is very excited about receiving the HBIA Apprentice Stage 1 Award for 2015, this morning he elatedly shared, “I would like to thank the Zucci Team for nominating me and for HBIA Apprentice of the Year award. I feel so honored at receiving this award. Working at Zucci and having the support of my peers has enabled me continually work towards my goal of becoming the best hairdresser I can be. I now have a reason to buy a trophy cabinet.”
