On December the 3^rd 2009 Zucci Lifestyle Salon at David Jones Bourke St was opened.  This is very exciting for the whole Zucci family and the Aveda family because this is the first Aveda Lifestyle Salon in Australia. Located at Level 1/310 Bourke St Melbourne, it is in the heart of Melbourne and the fashion hub of the city.

“With the opening of this salon I see a full circle in the commencement of my hairdressing career at Venus Hair College located at Centre Point Bourke St” directly across Bourke St from David Jones” said Zucci Director Rocco Petrucci.

Zucci Lifestyle is a destination salon. The lifestyle concept brings an even greater service level for our guests to experience. This salon has two locations within the David Jones store. Located on ground floor we have our “Express Blow-dry Bar” and Retail Area where guests can purchase any Aveda Product as we stock the full range, have their hair styled by one of our creative staff or experience an Aveda Sensory Ritual. The Level 1 Salon is a beautifully designed space capturing natural light. The space offer’s a relaxing and creative environment where busy shoppers can experience an excellent hairdressing service.

The team at David Jones is lead by our Creative Director Roxanne Jowett-Hall. Roxanne is supported by Robyn who is the Retail manager and a fantastic team of Stylists, Colourists, Product Advisors and Salon Coordinators.

Congratulations to the Zucci staff who competed at this years HBIA competitions. The team which comprised of  staff from all three salons worked incredibly hard to come up with some fantastic hairstyling, cutting, colouring and theatrical looks on the day. The preparation commenced 6 weeks earlier with all staff preparing story boards of up coming fashion direction and sourcing models for their events. The support of our Creative Director Roxanne Jowett Hall and Salon Manager Craig O’Connell enabled the team to work towards their goal.

The Zucci team was very successful at this years competitions, taking out 7 prizes.

Congratulations to this years Zucci nominees for the Hairdressing and Beauty Industry Association Apprenticeship awards. This years nominees were Laura Spinner, Kathryn Collins certificate 3 stage 2 and Shakira Petrucci certificate 3 stage 1 who represented ZUCCi Hairdressing in the Victorian HBIA awards. The three nominees have demonstrated their passion for the industry and developed their skills by participating in competitions and undertaking extra studies outside of their busy work schedule.

Zucci Hairdressing’s creative team have just finished working with Sam Clark and the keepers creating a raw rock edge to this photo shoot.  

Zucci Hairdressing is a proud sponsor of Earth Month. A number of our staff will be walking for water on the 19th of April, the walk is a 6km walk with funds raised through sponsorship going to water management programs in the third world. We are wanting sponsorship for this event and hope to raise $500. If you would like to support the event please call one of the salons and and sponsor one or all of the staff taking part in this event. Walk for water Sunday walking from east Melbourne through the Botanical Gardens and back to the start line.

With the help of PLW’s artists we celebrated our first birthday. The Zucci team and guests enjoyed a night of entertainment including live performances from Magenta, Sam Clark and Trinity and spinning the disks was DJ Elliot.
